Pussycat Dolls Concert
26 July 2006, Sunway Surf Pool

Talk about a long day. Had lunch with Dada in OU before heading back to her place. Fariz picked us up at about three something and we headed to Shah Alam to leave the car at Kevvo's place. Left SA at about 4.30pm and reached Sunway at about 5.30ish due to massive jam on Federal.

So we reach Elephant Walk and then bump into Farahana and some of her friends, seem to be doing that a lot these days..so sweet? go figure. So much for wanting to come early and push through the crowds..the gates only opened at 7pm. What do we end up doing? The boys say oh lets go makan so we bloody walked all the way to the Sunway Medan Selera...only to find 90% of the shops closed. What do we do next? We walk all the way to the gerai-gerai facing the highway beside Pyramid..madness! had a quick snackie and then we walked all the way back to Pyramid, down to Level 3 to enter Sunway Lagoon's main entrance, only to walk down what seemed to take forever to reach the surf pool. By this time we're all drenched in sweat, its not even funny.

Enter the concert arena.first and foremost I can't believe there wasn't a merchandise stand! not like I had the dosh to buy the PCD jacket I've been eyeing..but it would have been nice to catch a glimpse of it again no. secondly the layout. I think they drained the water out of the surf pool, couldn't really see as there were too many people. Basically the stage was opposite the deep end of the surf pool - for those of you who've stepped into Lagoon you might get a rough idea of what I'm talking about. This was then cordoned off into sections (think like a segment of a pie chart the stage at the pointy end)..the closest to the stage being RM200, followed by a barrier into the RM100 section. I don't know if the RM70 actually had a specific section, I think RM70 gets you in the Lagoon so you kinda just stand anywhere you can.

me with me very own Nicole Scherzinger!

When we arrived, the RM100 section was stuffed like sardines. A lot of us were questioning the organisers choice of location, but I suppose holding it at a surf pool was the only excuse to allow the PCDs to strut in those teeny outfits without JAIS stopping the concert (which I think they still could have if they wanted to - hence the reason for the minimal amount of publicity & promotion?). In that sense, it was well worth paying the extra RM100 to get to the front section.

officially exceeded our workout quota for the year! kevvo, me, farizio and dadakins

So we hang around and wait for the place to fill up. We being the camwhores that we are, take pictures naturally to kill time. They had some "fun" activities before hand, asking some members from the crowd to come up on stage and give their best pussycat impersonation/dance routine. Lets just say if my kid went on stage dancing like some of these underaged girls, she'd be grounded with no telly..serious! t-r-a-s-h-y dude..trashy. a few of them were dancing in uber short skirts n started doing "raunchy" (pls lah leave it to the profesionals) moves. yes crotch flashing aplenty. The boys loved it, I just felt embarassed for the girls. i mean if they looked good doing it its one thing lah..this just..looked real bad.

The opening act was Reshmonu and started late as expected about 8.30ish - Malaysian time right? and this is where it sucked abit coz Resh took a whole hour to perform - not that he wasn't good or anything but maybe it just felt that long cause we were all pretty restless/sweaty/busuk from standing the whole day/night.

i want these dolls buy for me!!

Lo and behold, the Pussycat Dolls come on stage and it gets crazy. Little kids (when I say kids I mean teens lah really) in a straight line of six or seven start pushing themselves to the front, smelly sweaty men also start doing the same. To be honest, we actually saw more from the back as there were less people/pushing and didn't have to risk fainting from dehydration..seriously it was really hot. And I don't like hot!!

while you're at it, get me the pink boots also!

Back to the Dolls..dude these women are not human I swear! They look every inch as perfect (perfect being the subjective stereotypical term here) as they do in videos - rock solid abs, gorgeous hair, skimpy little outfits. I say super human because despite their vigorous popping and dancing, they hardly broke a sweat..that has got to be impossible, right?

Anyway, they performed all their singles (Don'tcha, Beep, Buttons, Stickwitu, Sway) and a few more songs from their album. I was comparing this show to their opening act at the Black Eyed Peas concert in London. In that sense it was a disappointment - no stage sets/props whatsoever, and this was supposed to be their World Tour, not an opening act! I was telling Dada, if you were to put Siti Nurhaliza there instead it would have been the kodiest concert ever. But I suppose to Pussycat Dolls could perform in Pulau Ketam and still rock the show - yep..they were good enough to hold the show all on their own sans fancy sets and costume changes. Nicole looked good in her leopard print bikini-esque top with pink fingerless fishnet gloves and matching shocking pink boots..I lust, I truly do. and she's got a real good voice live as well..I told you..superhuman! Their dance choreography was superb and overall good energy from the Dolls.

Unfortunately the show didn't last very long (yes lah they've only got 1 album no) probably a little longer than Resh's opening act. And at this stage everyone is again tired/sweaty/busuk so no one even encores them to come back on stage (Da..anchor! anchor!!) kesian kan.

So yeah, that about sums up the PCD experience. I don't regret going, but at the same time I feel that they prolly shouldn't have charged that much for tickets. And I read some girls blog who bought the RM100 tickets that security was poor as those from the RM70 were climbing over the barriers into the RM100 and the same for the RM100 into the RM200 zone. Parents should really advise their seriously underage children to skip concerts - its not like they get to see anything, and apparently the crowd got quite rowdy at the RM100 and RM70 zones, so not the safest of places for your children to be at. Fortunately for us, we didn't have any unpleasant incidents so yeah, I had quite abit of fun actually! I'm giving this a three out of five.

What I Loved the Most: Everything Gaudi!! he's a genius man..i LOVE Barcelona..it's so colourful and full of personality! seriously, its got a lot of hidden secrets..but if you ever do go there, i highly recommend you go to Parc de la Ciutadella, Parc Guell and Casa Batllo. heck i even want to be proposed to at Parc de la Ciutadella..it's so breathtaking! its my heaven on earth!! plus i also really, really like the actors that statue themselves up especially along La Rambla..they're really creative! Barcelona - 4 thumbs up!

Lovely London (10 May - 26 June 2006)

Theme Song: Paul Oakenfold feat. Brittany Murphy - Faster Kill Pussycat

Places Visited: eh..London is..well..London. nothing new considering I've already been to most of their tourist spots a zillion times. This time around we did most of our shopping at suburban malls which was great! Ashford, Lakeside and some others. i have decided that i dislike shopping at Oxford Street thereabouts. Um we also went to the beaches - Southend and Brighton which was alright. Went to Funky Buddha with my sisters girlfriends which was nice, but I have to say I was pretty dissapointed with the place. so many Asians. like wtf, if i wanted to party with Asians I'd party in KL. bummer. and the interior was nothing to shout about either. besides that, went to Wembley Arena for the Black Eyed Peas and Pussycat Dolls concert which was killer. i love the Wembley Park tube station..so nice! oh and we also had a mini family vacation at Lake District..ok so its not exactly London but hey..consider this my England post :)

Things I Loved the Most: FAMILY!! ahh i miss my sisters so so so mucho! and my niece Yayaaa..ala i miss her la. I've got a new nickname from aya (she's gonna be 2 soon)..she calls me Doda haha its so cute i love it! either that or Aunty Sepet..hehe it's a long story. but yeaaa i got really attached to her and she's soo manja *sob* yeah and i'm gonna miss having Dewi there to back me up all the time..i'm even gonna miss Rima (that's Yaya's bibik) and her good cookin!

Paris Perfect (14 - 16 May 2006)

Theme Song: Paris Combo - Senhor
Mariah Carey & Snoop Dogg - Say Somethin (haha i know, loser)

Places Visited: Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomph, Eiffel Tower, the place opposite the Eiffel (heh), Buddha Bar, Musee de Louvre, the river Seine, Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, some flea market up north, Galleries la Fayette, Moulin Rouge, Montmarte, Sacre Couer, Jardin de Tuileries.

Thing I loved the most: French boys - goes without saying :) i swear Asian girls are a hot commodity here i love it! not like racist Brits..hmph! we shared the plane with a French hottie who had way too much luggage all the way to Gare du Nord. we met a tall, dark, handsome Frenchie writing in his journal (ooh how hot is that) while picnicking infront of the Eiffel. a friendly French Algerian helped us all the way to look for Place de la Concorde (like literally followed us all the way to our stop before parting ways). i loved our second nite in Paris coz we hung out with a couple of Parisien romantics on the steps of Sacre Couer, enjoying the view of Paris at sunset. eventho it was downright corny, but somehow when you're on holis in a foreign country (AND supposedly the most romantic country at that) these things kinda work! and i of course loved our youth hostel - Peace and Love bebeh! party central..the hottest Americans and Australians! ahhh...Paree, Paree...je t'aime! will deffo continue my French lessons :)

Which Messenger of Death Will You See Before You Die?

Doppelgangers is a replica of self, Doppelgangers have been seen by poets and royality throughout history, including Queen Elizabeth I.
Take this
quiz!

anywa. just did this Who's My Death Messenger quiz and it just completely spooked me out. I'm sure ya'll have heard of dopplegangers..i've been pretty out of touch from my days of TSGS and hunting ghost stories online, so i thought hey..why not revisit my too-shit-scared-to-sleep days and do some reading on dopplegangers. i dunno if it was the music that was playing (Paris Combo - Fibre de Verre) but man did i get chills down my spine. i'm pasting it below this so have a read if you're interested in the supernatural *does poor scary ghost imitation* be very afraid uhuh yea.

Dopplegangers!

http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly/aa111102a.htm

Do you have an exact double somewhere in the world? Can a person be in two places at once? There are many intriguing accounts throughout history of people who claim to have either encountered apparitions of themselves - their doppelgangers - or have experienced the phenomenon of bilocation, being in two separate locations at the very same time.

"Doppelganger" is German for "double walker" - a shadow self that is thought to accompany every person. Traditionally, it is said that only the owner of the doppelganger can see this phantom self, and that it can be a harbinger of death. Occasionally, however, a doppelganger can be seen by a person's friends or family, resulting in quite a bit of confusion.

In instances of bilocation, a person can either spontaneously or willingly project his or her double, known as a "wraith," to a remote location. This double is indistinguishable from the real person and can interact with others just as the real person would.

Emilie Sagée

One of the most fascinating reports of a doppelganger comes from American writer Robert Dale Owen who was told the story by Julie von Güldenstubbe, the second daughter of the Baron von Güldenstubbe. In 1845, when von Güldenstubbe was 13, she attended Pensionat von Neuwelcke, an exclusive girl's school near Wolmar in what is now Latvia. One of her teachers was a 32-year-old French woman named Emilie Sagée. And although the school's administration was quite pleased with Sagée's performance, she soon became the object of rumor and odd speculation. Sagée, it seemed, had a double that would appear and disappear in full view of the students.

In the middle of class one day, while Sagée was writing on the blackboard, her exact double appeared beside her. The doppelganger precisely copied the teacher's every move as she wrote, except that it did not hold any chalk. The event was witnessed by 13 students in the classroom. A similar incident was reported at dinner one evening when Sagée's doppelganger was seen standing behind her, mimicking the movements of her eating, although it held no utensils.

The doppelganger did not always echo her movements, however. On several occasions, Sagée would be seen in one part of the school when it was known that she was in another at that time. The most astonishing instance of this took place in full view of the entire student body of 42 students on a summer day in 1846. The girls were all assembled in the school hall for their sewing and embroidery lessons. As they sat at the long tables working, they could clearly see Sagée in the school's garden gathering flowers. Another teacher was supervising the children. When this teacher left the room to talk to the headmistress, Sagée's doppelganger appeared in her chair - while the real Sagée could still be seen in the garden. The students noted that Sagée's movements in the garden looked tired while the doppelganger sat motionless. Two brave girls approached the phantom and tried to touch it, but felt an odd resistance in the air surrounding it. One girl actually stepped between the teacher's chair and the table, passing right through the apparition, which remained motionless. It then slowly vanished.

Sagée claimed never to have seen the doppelganger herself, but said that whenever it was said to appear, she felt drained and fatigued. Her physical color even seemed to pale at those times.

Famous Doppelgangers

There have been many cases of doppelgangers appearing to well-known figures:
Guy de Maupassant, the French novelist and short story writer, claimed to have been haunted by his doppelganger near the end of his life. On one occasion, he said, this double entered his room, took a seat opposite him and began to dictate what de Maupassant was writing. He wrote about this experience in his short story "Lui."

John Donne, the 16th century English poet whose work often touched on the metaphysical, was visited by a doppelganger while he was in Paris - not his, but his wife's. She appeared to him holding a newborn baby. Donne's wife was pregnant at the time, but the apparition was a portent of great sadness. At the same moment that the doppelganger appeared, his wife had given birth to a stillborn child.

Percy Bysshe Shelley, still considered one of the greatest poets of the English language, encountered his doppelganger in Italy. The phantom silently pointed toward the Mediterranean Sea. Not long after, and shortly before his 30th birthday in 1822, Shelley died in a sailing accident - drowned in the Mediterranean Sea.

Queen Elizabeth I of England was shocked to see her doppelganger laid out on her bed. The queen died shortly thereafter.

In a case that suggests that doppelgangers might have something to do with time or dimensional shifts, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the 18th century German poet, confronted his doppelganger while riding on the road to Drusenheim. Riding toward him was his exact double, but wearing a gray suit trimmed in gold. Eight years later, von Goethe was again traveling on the same road, but in the opposite direction. He then realized he was wearing the very gray suit trimmed in gold that he had seen on his double eight years earlier! Had von Goethe seen his future self?

got this from Naz's blog :)

The Classic Lover
50% partner focus, 47% aggressiveness, 40% adventurousness
Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that:

You prefer your romance and love to be traditional rather than daring or out-of-the-ordinary, you would rather be pursued than do the pursuing and, when it comes to physical love, you concentrate more on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about your performance.

This places you in the Lover Style of: The Classic Lover.

The Classic Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, and is the closest it comes to the classic images of the princess in the tower, or the romantic and chivalrous knight, or the hero/heroine from a Disney film. The Classic Lover is a treasure to find, though it can be difficult to do so because they sometimes tend to be shy and/or difficult to successfully court.

In terms of physical love, the Classic Lover again can be shy, and often needs more in terms of emotional security to feel comfortable than some of the other Types. Given the right setting, and the right lover, the Classic Lover can be a delight in bed.

Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Romantic Lover (most of all) or the Devoted Lover, or the Liberated Lover.

Congratulations!

Thanks Again! --

What..THESE guys? pft.
Class president looks like a blugeek. :(

Audra, your OC crush is Ryan

While he's not exactly the boy next door, he sure is a hottie. And you heard it here first: You and Ryan are a match made in OC heaven. Like your feisty and fiery crush, you've probably got a bit of a wild streak that sets you apart from the rest of snooty Newport Beach or anywhere else you happen to hang.An independent spirit, you're not one to follow in the steps of the herd. No sir. You do your own thing and trust your gut on important matters. Lucky for you, it's usually spot on. And that's what makes you such an awesome addition to the OC or any scene. So, keep staying true to yourself. You're sure to be a star.

Brought to you by Tickle

Audra, your crush is the Class President

Hello, First Lady. A smart and motivated gal like you should set your sights high when it comes to your crush. Forget the slackers or burnouts. You should go for a guy who's got brains, ambition, and people skills (good looks wouldn't hurt either). Only an achiever and well-liked beau will be able to keep up with a first-class lass like you.A guy who's heading up the student council, spearheading a car-wash fundraiser, and winning everyone over with his charisma and charm is the right candidate for you. He's the responsible type who'll make Mom and Dad proud. And you'll feel proud when your next stop is the campaign trail or The White House!
